Balea Lake Chalet is situated at 2034 m altitude, on the peninsula which reaches into Balea glaciar lake, being surrounded from 3 sides by water. The present chalet is built (2000) on the old chalet (1904- which was burned completely in 1995) and is situated on three levels. The rooms (double rooms, 4-6  person occupancy rooms, 10 person occupancy rooms and suite) are situated on 1. and 2. levels and are equipped with private bathroom, pinewood and oakwood furniture, with a view towards the surrounding landscape. Other facilities: reception, kitchen, rustic style restaurant, terrace, central heating, rental possibilities (sport equipment, baby ski, scooter, maps, brochures, etc.). In the pleasing surroundings are many entertainment possibilities, such as skiing in the winter time on the numerous natural pistes.The telecabin, which makes the connection with Balea Waterfalls (1234 m), creates the possibility to descend on a 10 km route, with 600 m level difference. On the frozen surface of the lake (over 4 km) is arranged frozen glossed areas for hokey, curling and iceskating. In summer, on the lake nautical sports like boating are popular.
